Introduction: DRIKUNG KAGYU DHAGON KUNGATSELING
Doetoe Dhagon was founded by the decedent of “LANG “,a Sharling Dhakpa Sonam in year 1220. Sharling Dhakpa sonam is also the nephew of Chennga Dakpa Junges (a personal attendant of lord Jigten sumgon.
The primary literature and hagiography account used three names interchangeably:
( 1. Dhagon Vikarmashila Tsuklakhang 2. Pel Nam-non Tsultrim Tsuklagkhang 3. Dhagon Kunga Tselling)
Pelnam non tsultrim tsuklaghang is translated from root monastic name Dhagon Vikarmashila Tsuklakhang.
Since from its origin, it flourished as a vibrant monastic community. It is from this scared place the fourth and fifth lineage order Phagdru originated.
*The fourth phagdru gyalwa Rinpoche is biological younger brother of Dhakpa Sonam and so on .
Dhagon Kunga Tseling is so significant historically for numerous reasons. Here are some reasons why Dhagon Kungatsel significant historically, spiritually and more.
Dhagon kungatsel gained such a momentum as relate to its growth and popularity like the thunder of Dragon which is Tibetan metaphor for “Famous or well known. “During the Fifth Dalai lama, Kagyupa lineage was ostracized so that did affect the Dhagon Kungatseling.
When Gyalwa Rinchen Phuntsok reached age of 28 in year of 1536, his holiness restored the monasteries and scared pilgrimage sites. During the time of phagmodrupa, dhagon is part of Phagdru Densa Thil , later his holiness formally included Dhagon Kugatsel ling as part of Yangri Gar Institute of Drikung Kagyu.
Around 1609, When Gyalwa Konchok Ratna at age of 19, visited Dhagon Kungatsel for the Frist time. His Holiness Konchok Ratna initiated “ Unsurpassable Budhisattva Vow” and Chakrasamvara Empowerment and series of teachings , initiation and empowerments as per the request in the presence of Drikung Kagyu Gyaton Choeje .
Thereafter, His Holiness Konchok Ratna also visited Deting Monastery , Badhen monastery and Drongpa Dhe- Kyil (nangchen ) . His Holiness was welcomed and offered a grand life long life mandala and requested to turn the wheel of dharma. It is due to the series of teachings, initiations and empowerments being granted to them; they too became the disciples of Drikung Kagyu.
Gyalwa Konchok Ratna Dhagon Kunga Tseling paid his second visit at the age of 37 in the year of 1626.
During that time, his holiness renovated the shrine rooms, protector rooms. His Holiness Gyalwa Konchok Ratna for the first time arranged “Kagyu Gurtso” at Dhagon Kungatseling , it was from there the spontaneous activity of Kagyu gurtso originated .
When Kunkhen Rigzen Choedak reached age of 25, enthroned to the seat of Drikung kyopa Jigten sumgon.
Kunkhen Rigzen Choedak stayed at Dhagon Kunga Tselling for five years and visited three times.
THE REKNOWN DRIKUNG SORIG TRADITION FOUNDED FORMALLY IN DETING MONASTERY :
In year 1613, His holiness Kunkhen (Uur Nyon) Rigzen choedark at the age of 18 formally and for the first time initiated the experiential instruction of “The six yogas of Naropa .
At the Deting Monasteries, holiness received in depth instructions of Tibetan medicine under the tutelage of Kong meen -Tso je Konchok Gyaltsen that includes, the instruction of four tantra of Tibetan medicine and pivot experiential instructions.
Since then, Holiness not only studied both textual and oral instructions of Tibetan medicine but excelled in practicing them. It is due to his vigorous training in Tibetan medicine, and wealth of experience that His holiness accumulated, His holiness became perhaps one of father of Tibetan Medicine and invented the well-known “Dri lug way of healing and medicine. “
His Holiness Kunkhen Richen Choedark visited Dhagon Kungatsel for three times consecutively. During his visited, his holiness also conferred “ The unsurpassable Budhisattva Vow “ and other core teachings . His holiness also inaugurated the scared pilgrimage site of MARI ( Red mountains ) and Norbu GONRI ( Jeweled mountains of GEM ).
MARI is considered as no different to Tsari , adobe to 62 dieties of Chakrasamvara. it has many celestial lakes as per the collection work of his holiness.
Norbu Gonri has self- manifestion of stupa with lots of devotee.
In year 1620, an erudite scholar and the elite practitioner SANGYE DORJEE visited Dhagon Kunga Tselling which perhaps coincided with time when His Holiness Konchok Ratna lead the YANGRI GAR. It turned out that HE Sangye Dorjee as the third incarnation of GATON CHOEJE.
During the era of HIS holiness Khunkhen Rigzen Choedak and his visit to DHAGON KUNGA TSEL,There were 13 monasteries under its jurisdictions as listed below.

The frist HE Gyaton Choeje Choekyi Sangpo:is one of 13 closest heart disciple of lord jigten sumgon. His Eminence founded Deting monastery .
The second GATON CHOJE NAMKHA GYATSEN , founded The Tashi Jong retreat center . In some writing namkha Dorjee was placed which is wrong.
The third Sangye Dorjee was appointed as the tutor to the line of Gyaton Choeje and monastery . This tradition is still existed to this day .
His eminence the third Ro Nyom Sangye Dorjee was one of the few teacher to his holiness the fith dalai lama.
As per autobiography of the fifth dalai lama, His Eminence Ronyom sangye dorjee the third was present as zur choeying rangdol , Nyingma master who practice the five-fold path of mahamudra . It was written under the direction of guru, I ( The Fith Dalai lama ) released the secretary of Drikung out from the prison.

དེ་ནས་སྤྱི་ལོ་1609ཡས་མས་ཙམ་ལ་རྒྱལ་དབང་དཀོན་མཆོག་རཏྣ་དགུངས་ལོ་19ཡས་མས་ཙམ་ལ་ཟླ་དགོན་ལ་ཕེབས་ཐེང་དང་པོའི་སྐབས་གནས་དེར་རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་རྗེས་དབུས་འབྲི་གུང་པའི་ཆོས་བརྒྱུད་འཛིན་པའི་འདུས་པ་ལྟོས་ཆེ་བར་ལ་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ཆེན་མོ་དང་། བདེ་མཆོག་དབང་སོགས་འདོད་ཆོས་གནང་། རང་དགོན་བདེ་སྟེང་་དགོན་དང་བ་དན་དགོན་བརྒྱུད་འབྲོང་པའི་སྡེ་དཀྱིལ་དུ་ཕེབས་པས་སོ་སོར་འབུལ་ཞབས་རྒྱ་ཆེ་བ་བསྟར་བས་འདོད་ཆོས་མང་དུ་བརྩལ་ཏེ་འབྲི་གུང་པའི་གདུལ་བྱར་བཀོད།
ཕེབས་ཐེངས་གཉིས་པ་དགུངས་ལོ་37་སྤྱི་ལོར་1626 ཡས་མས་ཙམ་ལ་ཟླ་དགོན་ལ་ཕེབས།༧ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆོས་གྲགས་ཁམས་ཕྱོགས་ཟླ་དགོན་ལ་གཙོ་བོར་བཞུགས་ནས་ལོ་ངོ་ལྔ་ཙམ་བཞུགས་ནས་་ཕེབས་ཐེང་གསུམ་ཙམ་གྲུབ་ནས་མཐའ་མ་དགུངས་ལོ་ཉེར་ལྔ་ལ་འབྲི་གུང་གདན་ས་མཐིལ་ཡར་ཕེབས་ནས་༧འཇིག་རྟེན་གསུམ་མགོན་གྱི་གསེར་ཁྲི་ལ་མངའ་གསོལ་གྲུབ་པས་རྗེས་ཟླ་དགོན་ལ་ཕེབས་ནས་དགོན་གྱི་མཆོད་ཁང་དང་མགོན་ཁང་ཉམས་གསོ་གནང་ཞིང་ཚོགས་སུ་སྐྱོབ་པའི་རྣམ་མགུར་གྱི་མགུར་ཆོག་འཛུགས་པ་མཛད་པའི་དེའི་རྒྱུན་ལས་བཀའ་བརྒྱུད་མགུར་ཚོའི་ཆོ་གའི་འཕྲིན་ལས་བྱུང་།
དེ་ནས་སྤྱི་ལོར་1613ཡས་མས་ལ་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་དབུར་སྨྱོན་རིག་འཛིན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གྲགས་པ་མཆོག་དགུངས་ལོ་བཅོ་བརྒྱད་ཐོག་ཟླ་དགོན་ལ་ཕེབས་ཐེངས་དང་པོའི་སྐབས་ཆོས་དྲུག་གིས་ཉམས་འཁྲིད་གནང་བ་དང་བདེ་སྟེང་དགོན་དུ་ཕེབས་ནས་དེ་སྐབས་ཀོང་སྨན་འཚོ་བྱེད་དཀོན་མཆོག་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ལས་གསོ་བ་རིག་པའི་གཞུངས་ལུགས་སྤྱི་དང་བྱེ་བྲག་དཔལ་ལྡན་རྒྱུད་བཞི་དགོངས་འགྲེལ་མན་ངག་དང་བཅས་པ་ཟུར་ལུགས་ཀྱི་ཁྱད་ཆོས་སོགས་ལ་གསན་བསམ་ཙམ་མ་ཡིན་པར་ལག་ལེན་ཉམས་མྱོང་དང་འབྲེལ་བས་ཕྱག་བཞེས་གནང་སྦྱོང་དཔྱིས་ཕྱིན་པས་ཆེས་ཆེར་མཁས་པའི་ཁྱད་རྩལ་དགོངས་ཀློངས་སུ་བརྡོལ་བའི་གངས་ཅན་གསོ་བ་རིག་པ་འབྲི་ལུགས་ཞེས་པ་འདི་ནས་བྱུང་།
སྔ་ཕྱིར་ཕེབས་ཐེང་གསུམ་ཙམ་རིང་འབྲི་གུང་པའི་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་ཆེན་མོའི་གཙོས་པའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་ལེགས་པར་བསྐོར་ནས་གནས་ཆེན་རྨ་རི་དང་ནོར་བུ་དགོན་རི་སོགས་གནས་སྒོ་ཕྱེ་བར་མཛད་དོ།དེ་ནས་མཁས་དང་གྲུབ་པས་ཁྱུ་མཆོག་སངས་རྒྱས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཟླ་དགོན་གྱི་བླ་མ་ཕེབས་ལོ་སྤྱི་ལོ་1620 ཡས་མས་ཙམ་ཡིན་པར་སེམས་༧རྒྱལ་དབང་དཀོན་མཆོག་རདྣའི་སྐབས་ཡངས་རི་སྒར་གྱི་ཐུགས་འགན་བཞེས་སྐབས་ཡིན་པར་མངོན།
རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་རྗེས་སྐུ་འཕྲེང་གསུམ་པ་ཡིན་པར་བཤད།སྐུ་འཕྲེང་དང་པོ་རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བཟང་པོའི་གདན་ས་བདེ་སྟེང་དགོན་ཕྱག་བཏབས་ནས་དེ་ཡིས་སྐྱེ་སྲིད་རྒྱ་སྟོན་ནམ་མཁའ་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དང་དེ་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ནས་ད་ལྟའི་བཅུ་པ་འཕྲིན་ལས་བདུད་འདུལ་བར་སྐུ་འཕྲེང་རིམ་པར་བྱུང་། མཁས་གྲུབ་གཉིས་ལྡན་རྫོགས་ཆེན་ཐུབ་བསྟན་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་འམ་སྤྱི་ཉི་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་ཞལ་གསུངས་ལགས་སོ།

1959རྗེས་བོད་ཁ་བ་གངས་ཅན་ལྗོངས་འདིར་དགའ་བ་བརྒྱ་ལྡན་ཚང་གིས་ལེགས་སྐྱེས་ཀྱིས་འབྲས་བུ་སྨིན་པ་ལས་གཞན་གང་ལ་ཁ་དམར་འདེབས་པ་མི་རིགས་སོ།འདི་ལྟར་རག་བསྡུས་ངོ་དེབ་ཁྱབས་སྒྲགས་དམིགས་ཡུལ་ནི་ད་སྐབས་ཟླ་དགོན་གནས་སྟངས་ཧ་ཅང་སྐྱོ་བའི་མ་འོངས་སྔར་ལས་ལྷག་པའི་དར་རྒྱས་དང་༧འཇིག་རྟེན་མགོན་པོའི་བསྟན་པ་གསེར་བཙོ་མ་ལྟ་བུ་ཡོང་རེ་དངབདེན་པས་རྒྱབ་ལྗོངས་མཐུ་བཙན་པོས་དབང་དང་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་མཁྱེན་རྟོགས་དང་རོགས་རམ་རྒྱབ་བསྐྱོར་ཡོང་རེའི་ཕྱིར་དུ་ཡིན་པའི་དགོངས་མངའ་ཡོང་བར་ཞུ།

༧རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་རྗེས་སྐུ་འཕྲེང་བཅུ་པ་འཕྲིན་ལས་བདུད་འདུལ།
༧རྒྱལ་བ་འབྲི་གུང་པའི་གདན་རབས་རིམ་བྱོན་ནས་གསལ་བའི་རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་རྗེ་འམ་དགོན་མིང་བླ་མ་ལ་ཐོག་པའིབཀྲིས་ལྗོངས་པ་ཞེས་པ་སྐུ་འཕྲེང་བགྲངས་ཚུལ་མང་ཡང་འདིར་སྐུ་གོང་མའི་སློབ་མ་རྫ་སྟོད་རྫོགས་ཆེན་དགོན་གྱི་མཁན་སྤྲུལ་མཁས་གྲུབ་གཉིས་ལྡན་ཐུབ་བསྟན་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ལམ་སྤྱི་ཉི་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་ཞལ་གསུངས་ལྟར་རག་བསྡུས་སུ་བརྗོད་པར་བྱའོ།
དེ་ཡང་སྐུ་ཕྲེང་དང་པོ་༼༡༽རྒྱ་སྟོན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བཟང་པོ་ནི་༧འཇིག་རྟེན་མགོན་པོའི་སློབ་མ་ཕྲིན་ལས་རང་མཉམ་བཅུ་གསུམ་པའི་གྲས་ཤིག་ཡིན་ལ་གདན་ས་རྒྱ་སྟོན་བདེ་ལྡིང་དགོན་ཕྱག་བཏབ་པ་དང་ཕྱིས་སུ་དགེ་བསྒྱུར་དང་འབྲུག་པ་སྟོད་འབྲུག་ཤུགས་ཆེ་ཡོད་པ་མངོན་ལ་སྔར་དུས་ཟླ་དགོན་གྱི་མངའ་ཁུངས་ཡིན་པ་རྒན་རབས་ཀྱི་བཤད་སྲོལ་དང་ཡིག་རྙིང་ཁག་ནས་གསལ།
